BRIDGING THE GAP: POLICY REFORMS TO OVERCOME INDIA'S ECONOMIC BOTTLENECKS
Author: G.R. Junnaykar & Kshitija T Kanagale

ABSTRACT
India is considered to be on track to become an economic superpower by 2047, and some say
it’s already become a prominent player in the global economy. Here are some reasons why;
Indian’s population is expected to reach 1.67 billion by 2050, which is larger than China’s
and the US’s combined. India has the world’s second largest labour force with 476 million
workers. India’s economy is growing quickly and is more than twice as fast as most emerging
market economics. In 2024, Forbes India ranked India fifth in the world for GDP, and it’s
expected to be the third largest economy by 2027. India’s economy is fuelled by many
sectors, Including information technology, services, agriculture and manufacturing. India
offers lower tariffs and labour costs, as well as government incentives, which attract
investors, policyholders and businesses. However, India still faces challenges, such as a
global economic slowdown and income inequality.

Author: Kshitija T Kanagale & G.R. Junnaykar

ABSTRACT
E-commerce growth has been great for women in charge, but gender bias and manipulating
work and life are still problems. This study looks at how Human Resource stuff can help
make a good place to work for women starting e-commerce businesses. To help women grow
at work and deal with problems, we need good human resource moves like diversity plans,
flex time, mentors, and guidance training—which all helps the company do better and come
up with fresh ideas. Recent studies show that HR matters, but we still don't know how some
plans will work out in the long run or how different regions and industry changes affect
women leading in e-commerce. This study wants to fill in those blanks by figuring out what
HR does, spotting problems, and checking how flex time and mentors affect women's
leadership. It mostly uses info from other sources and ends with tips to help women lead
better in this quick-moving business.

IMPACT OF GOVERNMENT WELFARE SCHEMES ON RURAL POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN INDIA
Author: Lalita S Chavadi

ABSTRACT
Welfare Schemes, India, MGNREGA, NRLM, Social Rural poverty in India has persisted
despite rapid economic progress, due to systemic deprivation of livelihoods, infrastructure,
human development, and financial inclusion. In response, the Government of India has
launched multiple welfare programs, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM),
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman
Nidhi (PM-KISAN), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Integrated Child
Development Services (ICDS), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). This paper
evaluates these schemes using 2023–2025 data, government portals, and independent
evaluations to assess their impact on rural poverty indicators—employment, income security,
infrastructure, health, and financial inclusion. MGNREGA and NRLM strengthened
livelihood resilience and women’s empowerment; PMGKAY and PM-KISAN ensured food
and income relief; PMGSY and PMAY-G enhanced physical infrastructure and housing
security; PMUY and ICDS supported health, nutrition, and energy access; and PMJDY
expanded banking outreach. Despite successes, implementation challenges such as delays in
payments, inclusion errors, fiscal limitations, and inter-state variation persist. The paper
recommends improving targeting, indexing benefits to inflation, integrating skill
development with transfers, reinforcing monitoring through digital tools, and enabling
convergence across schemes to maximize poverty reduction. These reforms can help ensure
that welfare schemes continue to serve as effective tools for inclusive rural development.

of older population in India that present issues that need to be taken care of if economic and
social development is to proceed effectively. It is affected by the change in socio-economic
condition of the elderly that adversely affects the individual's way of life after retirement.

to technical advancement in field’s general health, education, medicine and medical facilities,
national food related schemes and food availability, there is decline in death rate of all age
groups resulting in continuous incline in population with the age of sixty years and more.

DEMOCRACY ON A COMMON CLOCK: A CONSTITUTIONAL AND POLITICAL STUDY OF ONE NATION, ONE ELECTION IN INDIA
Author: Manjunath N. Lamani & Y. S. Balavantagol

ABSTRACT
The concept of One Nation, One Election (ONOE) represents a transformative shift in India’s
democratic and electoral landscape. This study examines the constitutional, political, and
institutional dimensions of synchronizing national and state-level elections in the world’s
largest federal democracy. The proposal aims to reduce election-related expenditure, policy
paralysis, and governance disruptions caused by frequent electoral cycles. However, it also
invites critical questions regarding its alignment with the federal structure, democratic
pluralism, and constitutional safeguards enshrined in the Indian polity. This research employs
a qualitative approach, drawing on constitutional texts, parliamentary debates, reports of the
Law Commission and Election Commission of India, and judgments of the Supreme Court. It
analyses the feasibility of implementing ONOE within the framework of Articles 83, 172,
356, and the Basic Structure Doctrine, while also considering its political ramifications such
as the centralization of electoral narratives and the marginalization of regional voices.
The study situates ONOE in a broader comparative context by examining similar practices in
countries like South Africa, Sweden, and Indonesia, thereby providing a global perspective
on synchronized elections in federal systems. It also evaluates the logistical preparedness and
institutional autonomy required for such a reform to succeed in India.
The article argues that while ONOE may offer administrative and fiscal benefits, it poses
significant risks to the heterogeneity and decentralized ethos of India’s democracy. As such,
any move toward electoral unification must be preceded by a rigorous constitutional
amendment process, wide public consultation, and the political consensus of state
governments. This paper contributes to the ongoing debate on electoral reform by balancing
the imperatives of governance efficiency with the foundational values of representative
federalism.
Keywords - One Nation One Election, simultaneous elections, Indian Constitution,

Commission.

GROWTH IN BANKING SECTOR WITH FINANCIAL INCLUSION
Author: Deepa Iranna Itagi

ABSTRACT
Financial inclusion is the process through which all participants in the economy can easily
access, utilize, and be part of the official financial system. There is ample evidence of the
benefits of an inclusive approach in the expanding body of research on financial inclusion.
Monetary structure. But we note that there isn't a single, all-encompassing metric that can be
used to gauge how much financial inclusion there is in an economy. This study aims to close
this gap and provide a novel contribution. We suggest developing an index of financial
inclusion (IFI) using a multifaceted methodology. The IFI that has been built here can be
used to compare financial inclusion levels at a given period in different economies.
Additionally, it can be used to track the advancement of legislative measures for long-term
financial inclusion.

IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON INDIAN ECONOMY
Author: Reshma S. Gajakosh

INTRODUCTION:
The Indian economy is rapidly and significantly changing due to artificial intelligence, which
is also revolutionizing traditional management techniques. Artificial intelligence (AI) is
poised to have a significant impact on the Indian economy. According to a report by
NASSCOM, a unit increase in AI intensity by AI-using firms could return $67.25 billion or
2.5% of GDP to the Indian economy in the near term. This growth is attributed to AI's ability
to increase Total Factor Productivity (TFP) growth by 0.05% with a unit increase in AI
intensity.
In the Indian context, the impact of AI can already be seen in a wide range of organizations
and industries. Businesses are using AI to improve operations across all industries, including
the financial industry, retail, and manufacturing. Indian banks are using AI, for instance, to
strengthen fraud detection systems and improve customer service, delivering a more secure
and seamless experience. Similar to this, Indian retailers are using AI to improve supply
chains, personalize recommendations, and ensure maximum efficiency. AI is being used by
Indian manufacturers to raise quality control standards and promote cost effectiveness,
demonstrating the many benefits that AI can provide.

GENDER DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH INEQUALITIES IN RURAL AND URBAN AREAS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY IN VIJAYAPURA DISTRICT, KARNATAKA
Author: Rashmi.G. Vanshakrutamath

ABSTRACT:
Health is a basic human right, yet inequalities persist due to gender, geography, and socioeconomic status. Vijayapura district in northern Karnataka faces multiple health challenges,
with clear disparities between men and women and between rural and urban populations. This
study, based entirely on secondary data sources such as the NFHS-5 Vijayapura District Fact
Sheet (2019–21), Census of India (2011), and District Health Office reports, provides a
comparative analysis of gender health inequalities in rural and urban settings of Vijayapura.
The analysis highlights critical gaps in maternal health, child nutrition, anemia prevalence,
healthcare access, and utilization. Findings reveal that rural women face higher rates of
anemia, lower institutional deliveries, and limited healthcare access, while urban women,
despite better institutional care, increasingly face lifestyle-related health issues. The study
concludes with policy recommendations for strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure,
promoting women’s health awareness, and implementing gender-sensitive health
interventions at the district level.
